Four requirements and the unlock
Find Not Haughty under Prudence, not a general “make a perfect dress” task. The character guide lists complete Priya's Exhibition Opening as its prerequisite. That wording does not establish whether a failed delivery follows the same unlock branch.
| Row | Passing direction | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Quality | 70 or lower | Do not improve an already-passing value toward 100. |
| Simple | 40 or higher | Keep the style value above its minimum when changing pieces. |
| Workwear | 40 or higher | Check the live draft value, not just the fabric's name. |
| Uncomfortable | 25 or higher | Do not replace away the very tag this order wants. |
Start with cotton and burlap
In a 2 October Steam reply, Exile Era recommends cotton with burlap for Prudence's uncomfortable/workwear order. Use that as a starting combination in the sketchbook: choose available pieces and compare the draft's Simple, Workwear and Uncomfortable values before buying and cutting.
If one of those rows is short, change the fabric or pattern contributing to that row and read the draft again. The player did not establish fixed fabric quantities, a single required pattern set or guaranteed scores on every build. A dress containing burlap is not automatically a passing dress, and cheaper fabric does not by itself solve a Quality value that is too high.
Lower quality on purpose
Once the three style rows are covered, this is the order where the usual perfect-making advice works against you. Exile Era suggests cutting against the grain and sewing poorly. At the cutting table, rotate the pattern away from its correct-grain orientation and inspect the changed percentage before cutting. At the sewing machine, watch the quality gauge rather than repeating a perfect seam just because 100% normally looks desirable.

No verified conversion tells us how many points a particular angle or bad stitch removes. Work on one piece, then inspect the dress's Quality row; do not promise yourself that a particular sewing speed or one ruined seam will land exactly on 70. 70 is a maximum, not a number you must hit exactly.

If the dress is already too good
- Still sewing the current piece? R resets that piece so you can sew it again. It does not reset pieces already attached to the dress.
- Piece already installed? Use the seam ripper on the mannequin, then return the freed piece to the pattern inventory before changing screens.
- Need to change its grain or fabric? At the cutting table, drag the piece to the recycle basket and recut. Fabric returns only if that roll's excess has not been cut off; already-trimmed excess is spent.
- Reassemble and read the rows again. Lowering Quality must not leave Simple, Workwear or Uncomfortable below their minimums.

Follow the full rework and fabric-refund branches if the piece is already off the mannequin. Do not restart the whole dress or assume recycling is lossless just to fix one high Quality value.
Read all four final values before delivery
After the dress is fully assembled, check Quality ≤70, Simple ≥40, Workwear ≥40 and Uncomfortable ≥25 on your current card. A low Quality value alone does not complete the brief. If all four pass, finish the dress and use the commission delivery option; selling off-rack or gifting is a different action.
If it is returned, first confirm the named order and the final values, then inspect the delivery choice. Do not apply this quality ceiling to every refusal or every pigeon request: Not Haughty is documented as a Prudence character commission, not a confirmed pigeon-side order.
